Invisalign Lite vs Full: What’s the Difference?

Invisalign Lite vs Full: What’s the Difference?

Invisalign is a popular choice of teeth straightening treatment, as it is favoured for it’s clear and removable design. This system allows for a less noticeable treatment and is easy to use with a low maintenance brace care routine, when compared to traditional braces. Depending on your orthodontic concerns, there are several Invisalign options to choose from, including Invisalign Lite. But when browsing Invisalign Lite vs Full, what’s the difference?

Invisalign Lite for Teeth Straightening

While Invisalign Lite works in a very similar way to full Invisalign, Invisalign Lite is designed for treating minor orthodontic issues. This includes slight overcrowding, poorly positioned teeth, small gaps between teeth or poor alignment between your lower and upper teeth.

Typically during your treatment time with Invisalign Lite, you will receive a maximum of ten transparent aligners. This means a shorter treatment time (usually within six months) and less costs when compared to the full Invisalign treatment.

In addition to treating minor orthodontic problems, Invisalign Lite can also be used as a precursor to cosmetic dentistry treatments. This includes crowns, veneers and bridges.

Invisalign Lite vs Full

The most noticable difference with Invisalign Lite vs full is that full Invisalign treatment is used for more severe orthodontic issues, such as crooked, gappy and overlapping teeth.

Treatment time is longer, with each clear aligner being used for approximately two weeks at a time to apply gentle pressure to gradually move your teeth into the desired position.

Benefits of Invisalign Treatments

Invisalign offers a variety of treatments to cater for people of different ages and with different orthodontic concerns. As treatment uses removable clear aligners, you don’t have to be restricted with what you eat to maintain excellent brace care. This also makes the braces easier to clean compared to fixed braces and less likely to be accidentally damaged.

3D computer imaging is used to create your bespoke Invisalign aligners and can be viewed using a virtual treatment plan in advance so you can have a preview of your expected results.
